KUPWARA, JULY 16:(KNS)  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today once again reiterated his appeal to the people of Kupwara district to continue the usage of masks and maintenance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) besides other SOPs to overcome the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The DC said this while addressing media persons here in his office chamber, today briefing them about the current Covid situation in the district.

Giving details, the DC said that the positivity rate has declined to 0.4 percent, while, Recovery rate has gone up to 98.2 percent which is a good sign of satisfaction for the district. He said that out of 13980 positive cases, 13732 cases have recovered till date.

He said the district has currently 83 active cases, adding that only 9 patients are admitted in SDH Kupwara, 66 are under home isolation. 

Regarding vaccination, the DC said that 71.39 percent of the target population of above 45 years age has been vaccinated till date. While, 19.10 percent of 18-44 years age group has been vaccinated so far in the district, he added. 

The DC said that holding Covid appropriate behaviour and other SOPs should be taken as a social responsibility, adding that all stakeholders need to adopt it as part of their lifestyle.
