Terming the shutdown in Jammu and Kashmir on the independence day of India and hoisting of Pak flags in Kashmir on the Independence day of Pakistan despite curbs and restrictions imposed by the administration as an “eye-opener” for India and the whole world, Hurriyat (G) said that Kashmiri nation has once again announced their decision that what they want and which side they want to be.
In a statement issued here today, spokesman of Hurriyat (G) Ayaz Akbar said the rulers of India should shun the traditional rigidity and stubbornness and accept the mandate of the people of Kashmir and give them a chance to decide their future by holding independent referendum there.
He added that when India was celebrating its independence day there was curfew all over Kashmir and by boycotting the government functions, the Kashmiri people were giving a silent message to the India and the whole world that they do not accept and endorse the forced occupation and they are in the state of protest against this illegal control.
Spokesman said that the world has changed a lot and the Indian rulers should also modernize their thinking because their arrogance and rigidity have neither benefitted in the past and nor will this attitude help them in future. “Kashmiri people were against this forced occupation of India in 1947 and they continue to stand against it today,” he said.
The spokesman remembered that no such assault or plot is left now which India have not utilized and experienced in Jammu & Kashmir to change the minds of its people, they deployed 2/3 of their armies in Kashmir who unleashed countless atrocities and cruelties upon the common people.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“They on many times tried to buy them against different benefits and schemes but they every time failed in their wicked designs.”
The spokesman said that on the other hand the people of Kashmir openly express their affections and attachments with the Pakistan and on the eve of the Independence day of this country the Kashmiri people waved Pak flags, distributed sweets and sung their national anthem openly despite strict restrictions and curbs and its reason is that the Pakistan openly supports the right to self determination of the Kashmiri people and this country every time raise the Kashmir issue in the national and international forums. Hurriyat spokesman termed the frustration of the Indian rulers over the waving of Pakistan flags in Kashmir as unwanted and unfair and said that instead of getting angry, India should try to understand the truth and reality and they should respect the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Hurriyat conference thanked the people of the state for maintaining complete shutdown on 15 August and boycotting the government functions in this regard and congratulated them for being so sensitive and serious about the freedom struggle of the nation.
