Sopore, Apr 08 (KNS): Sopore police on Friday asked business establishments, places of worship and markets to install CCTVs in order to prevent criminal activities of anti-national and anti-social elements in the town. 

 

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS), in view of the prevailing persistent threat, relating to recent increased incidents of selective targeting of innocent citizens by the anti-nationals and subversive elements, police have asked business establishments, places of worship and markets in Sopore to install CCTV

 

He said that the installation of CCTV outside such establishments would work as a force multiplier, which would inspire further confidence in general public and customers visiting these establishments. 

 

"Cameras are to be installed in the next 14 days, any contravention of the orders will attract legal action. People have also been asked to inform the station house officers of their nearest police stations in case they notice any suspicious movement or activity in the CCTV systems," he said. (KNS)
