Burglars steal over 100 apple boxes from orchard in Anantnag

Anantnag, Nov 02 (KNS): Burglars late last night stole over 100 apple boxes from an orchard in Khiram area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said here on Tuesday. 

Officials told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the apple boxes were packed and kept in the orchard owned by a local grower, Abdul Rashid Parry, of Khiram. 

They said that the boxes under Kahata SRP Kharab marking were stolen from the orchard, which has left the owner in shock. "The estimated market value of the stolen apple stock is said to be around 1.5 lakh."

Meanwhile, Abdul Rashid Parray told KNS that 100 "Kuloo delicious" boxes have been stolen from his orchard late last night and the estimated cost of the stolen apple boxes is around 1.5 lakh. 

He said that he has filed a complaint in a nearby police station and he was also going to the nearby fruit mandis to look for the stolen apple boxes. (KNS)
