Srinagar, Dec 16 (KNS): Burglars on Sunday night attempt to loot Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank Branch Kralgund-Qaziabad in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports said burglars entered into the Bank through a window of a bathroom but after several attempts they failed to open the strong room of the Bank, where the money and important documents were stored.
The burglars used a gas cylinder to open the strong room but the heat generated by the cylinder couldn’t open the strong room. A Bank officer said all the belongings in the Bank were safe and nothing was stolen.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Branch Manager J&K Grameen Bank Branch Kralgund-Qaziabad Shabir Ahmad Khan told KNS they have registered a complaint in police station Kralgund.
After the burglary attempt, panic has gripped among the local shopkeepers. They urged the police to take strong measures to stop such attempts as according to them in the past also burglars have looted some shops in the market.
While confirming the incident SHO police station Kralgund told KNS that they were collecting the details. (KNS)
