Srinagar, Feb 23 (KNS): Two robbers have been arrested by police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district for robbing local shopkeepers in the area.
Police said that the robbers would use a hired ambulance of the health department to carry out their criminal activities and ferry the robbed items to their hide-outs.
The burglars who have been arrested, have been identified as Mehraj-u-din Khan son of Abdul Majeed Khan of Nowgam Khag in Budgam district and Mohammad Saleem Wani son of Ghulam Rasool Wani of Achabal, Anantnag.
Police sources said that a shopkeeper, Ghulam Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Ahad Bhat of Gogaldara Tangmarag, filed a complaint that his Kirana shop was looted by unknown burglars on Sunday night.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“Police started investigations into the complaint and the incharge SHO along with police party headed by SDPO Tangmarag, investigated the matter and seized the said Sumo vehicle, along with the Kirana worth lakhs of rupees, and after following leads and clues arrested the two burglars,” police sources said.
Reportedly, the Sumo ambulance had been hired on rental basis by Block Medical Officer Khag for ferrying patients.
Police has registered a case vide FIR No. 08/2017 U/S 457. 380. RPC in Tangmarag police station and started further investigation into the case. (KNS)
