Budgam police arrests 02 notorious drug peddlers, contraband substance, cash recovered

Budgam, Oct 17 (KNS): Continuing its efforts to curb the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 notorious drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession, besides, cash and cell phones were also recovered from their possession.

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Police said that officers from Police Station Chadoora at a checkpoint established at Kill Kadal Chadoora intercepted two persons in a suspicious condition. They have been identified as Farooq Abbas Koka son of Abdul Majeed Koka and Sameer Ahmad Koka son of Farooq Ahmad Koka both residents of Zinipora Chadoora. 

During checking, officers were able to recover 20 grams of heroin, cash amount of ?18600/ and 02 cell phones from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, it added.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 177/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation has been initiated, statement reads.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers & cultivation of the contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling or cultivation will be dealt as per law, it added.(KNS)
