Residents appeal higher ups

Kupwara, Feb 07 (KNS): The BSNL land line and cellular services are suspended in Karnah area of northern Kashmirs Kupwara district from last 15 days, residents alleges.
Residents from Karnah said that BSNL exchange is defunct at Karnah area and their cellular services are suspended from last 15 days and department pays no attention.
Mohammad Hussain Mughal said that Kupwara-Karnah road is blocked from last two weeks and in this disconnection, there is only one way to remain connected with rest of world is telephone, but the system is defunct.
He said that people cannot talk with relatives and kids who are in outside from Karnah, and in these situation their anxieties increases.
“We you cannot talk with your relatives for many days it ads worries. Our kids are studying in Kupwara and Srinagar but we are not able to connect with them due to the defunct system of BSNL,” Mughal said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
There are two exchanges in Karnah one in, Tangdhar and other in Taad, and according to the residents both are currently defunct. And the cellular services are suspended too.
The local officer wishing anonymity said that they don’t have advanced machinery to run the system there. he said present machinery is obsolete and despite requests to higher authorities to provide assistance, but nothing happen till date.
When contacted General Manager BSNL Kashmir on his cell no 9419020001, he did not respond our call despite many attempts.
The MLA Karnah Raja Manzoor said that he has taken the matter with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and she has assured services will be improved.
“I met Mehbooba Mufti and she assured services will be improved very soon and other networks will be allowed to work in Karnah,” Raja Manzoor said. (KNS)
