Leh, August 28 (KNS): The Border Security Force (BSF) Kashmir on Wednesday held a condolence ceremony at Phukpochey village in Nubra Valley, Ladakh, to mark the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Saser Kangri mountaineering tragedy.
According to a statement issued by BSF Kashmir on social media platform X, the event was organised to pay tribute to 13 BSF mountaineers who lost their lives while attempting to summit the Saser Kangri peak in 1995.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The ceremony was attended by BSF personnel and local residents, who gathered to honour the memory of the personnel who died in the line of duty during the challenging expedition.
The BSF stated that the tribute reflects the continued respect for the courage and commitment of those who took part in the mission, and serves as a reminder of the risks undertaken by security forces even beyond conventional duties.—(KNS)
