BSF foils narcotics smuggling bid, recovers huge consignment in Samba

 Jammu, August 25 (KNS): BSF troops in foiled a smuggling bid through International Border in Samba area earlier Thursday morning & recovered about 8 kgs of narcotics, likely to be heroin and injured the Pakistani intruder.


A statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), said, "Alert jawans of 161 Battalion of Border security Force (BSF) recovered huge quantity of narcotics product came from across the border," it said.
"On specific input regarding crossing of consignment (Narcotics) likely by  throwing  over the  fence in Chiliyari border post of BSF.  Operation was planned and executed by troops of BSF. 
At about 2:30am hrs, suspicious movement of one Pak Person  was noticed,." Statement reads.

 He was  carrying back pack load (likely to be Pithu)  and started approaching towards B S Fence. As and when aforesaid Pak person  reached near BS Fence and tried  to cross  consignment by throwing Packets  over the  BS fence, it added.
The statement also said that he was  fired upon by ambush party, Pak person  hit by multiple bullets at lower portion  of the body and fell down.
" In injured condition he managed  to crawl back. Thorough  search ahead of fence  carried out after first light. During initial search near fence  08 packets wrapped in white cloth were found  laying near fence . Blood trail of injured smuggler also found. Tell tale marks of dragging by his fellow associates from IB found. 
 
Recovery site is nearly 40 meters from IB," statement issued reads. (KNS)
