Srinagar, July 9 (KNS): A 9-year-old boy today drowned in the river Jehlum at Maloora in Srinagar.

Witnesses quoting his cousin said that the boy identified as Yasir Hammed son of Abdul Hameed of Maloora was bathing in the Jehlem when he drowned.

The witnesses said that police and locals have started searching for the boy in the waters of the jehlum after the police was informed about the incident.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Yasir, as per his cousin, was bathing in the jehlum as hot weather has gripped the Kashmir valley from the last few days.

A police official in the area said that rescue team has been sent to the area to trace the boy. (KNS)
