As Prime Minister Narindra Modi is visiting Jammu Friday, guns roared once again on International Border (IB) in RS Pura with both Indian and Pakistani troops exchanging heavy firing and shelling resulting in injuries to four civilians
It seems both Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistani Rangers are not following the decision of their country’s political leadership, as was expected after Modi met his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Ufa, Russia and pledged to find solution through talks to all outstanding issue including cease fire violations.
Sources said the condition of injured persons, who were shifted to RS Pura Hospital, as stable. They said that fear has gripped in the entire RS Pura sector with people fleeing to the safer places.
“Today at around 1:10 AM Pakistan Rangers fired without provocation in RS Pura and targeted five BSF posts in forward area of the International Border,” said a source in BSF, adding many civilian areas including Raipur Sazdian and Basalpur also came under the attack of mortar shells.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Sources added that BSF posts like Abdullian, Sangral, Tube Well five, and Koratona Khurd were the targets of Pak Rangers.
Similarly, on Line of Control in Poonch district, Pak Army and Indian army exchanged heavy fire in Shahpur where the civilian areas were also targeted.
On Wednesday, one woman was killed and five others including BSF troops were wounded in Akhnoor after Rangers and BSF exchanged fire on the International Border.
Meanwhile, adequate security arrangements have been to ensure smooth and safe visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jammu tomorrow. The PM is visiting Jammu tomorrow to attend a function organized to mark centenary celebrations of Girdhari Lal Dogra.
The function would be organized at Gen Zorawar Singh Auditorium in the University of Jammu.
The PM alongwith Finance Minister Arun Jaitely will attend the function organized in respect of late Dogra, who is father-in-law of Jaitley.
