Anantnag, Sep 30 (KNS): Minister for Revenue & Rehabilitation Ab Rehman Veeri released a book titled “Lamhat Kay Sath” and a special number of weekly “Shihab” today here at Dak Bunglow Anantnag. The book has been authored by renowned journalist and Editor weekly “Shihab” Qasim Sajad.
On this occasion speakers praised the efforts of the author for compiling some historical facts in the form of a book. They suggested Qasim Sajad, who is also the editor, printer and publisher of the weekly “Shihab” to start the paper on daily basis. They said that Qasim Sajad is a beacon for the present generation of journalists.
While addressing the audience Minister for Revenue & Rehabilitation Ab. Rehman Veeri said that a dynamic leadership in any field can change the fate of the society. He said that Kashmir has produced dynamic leaders and journalists. He added that a person is remembered not for is the wealth but for his contribution towards the society. He said that Kashmir does not lack the talent in any field but what is required is the dedication. He congratulated the author for his endeavour for authoring the book.
MLA Homeshali Bugh Advocate Ab Majeed Larm on this occasion said that healthy journalism can lead a nation and journalists like Qasim Sajad have proven vital in changing the political scenario of the Kashmir.
Retired High Court Judge Justice Bashir Kirmani while sharing his ideas said that author of the book has nicely compiled the historical facts and need of the hour is to strengthen the fourth pillar of the democracy.

He advised the present generation journalists to be professional.
Renowned poet and writer Gh Nabi Aatish said that Qasim Sajad is the senior most journalist of the state and has sustained for last 35 years without any political patronage. He added that Qasim Sajad is a straightforward and unbiased journalist.
DC Anantnag while addressing the audience said that such events provide us the platform to share our views and emotions and to get ourselves relieved. He added that healthy criticism is important for the overall development in all walks of life. He added that unfortunately we are lacking healthy criticism presently. He added that literature in any society is something that can be gifted to the coming generation. He said that every individual needs to bring a positive change in himself which will itself change the entire society. He said that such events will be organised in future too.
