Uri, Oct 19 (KNS): The locals of Boniyar area of north Kashmir's Uri Tuesday expressed strong resentment against authorities for using poor quality of macadamization in the area. They appealed authorities to take note of the job and bring all involved officials to the justice.

Residents of Boniyar protested against the PMGSY department for using poor quality of material while black topping of roads in the area. They said though roads of the area were attended by authorities after two decades however the selfishness of the concerned officials led the devastated only after two days.

"The crushed stones (bajri) is scattered all around on the road as the said contractor used poor quality of material into the job", locals said.

It is worth to mention PMGSY has taken up the macadamization of Boniyar to Madanan road covering 9.2 km stretch to an estimated cost of rupees nine crore.

The locals appealed higher authorities to take cognizance of the matter and expose the elements involved in looting public exchequer. 

Executive Engineer PMGSY Mohammad Haneef Mir while talking to KNS expressed ignorance about the matter. He said "I have no information about the matter. I will confirm and take required action accordingly", he said.

Meanwhile SDM Uri, Harvinder Singh told KNS that he will look into the matter. He said if any wrong is happened there, the work must be executed again as it belongs to people.

"We can't allow comprise with the quality", the SDM said. (KNS)
