Srinagar, May 3 (KNS): The body of a 24-year-old youth who went missing after a boat capsized in Dal Lake near Duck Park on Friday was recovered by rescue teams on Saturday morning.
According to officials, the deceased, identified as Taufeeq Ahmad Chopan of Chopan Mohalla, Rainawari, was traced after rescue efforts resumed at daybreak. Operations had been suspended overnight due to low visibility.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when strong winds caused a fishing boat to overturn, throwing two fishermen into the lake.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWhile one of them, Abdul Majeed Khosa of Rainawari, was rescued shortly after the mishap, Chopan remained unaccounted for despite repeated search attempts.
Personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) led the recovery operation.—(KNS).
