Srinagar Apr 19 (KNS): On 19th of March 2016, Police Station Mattan received an application from Afroz Ahmad Bhat resident of Seer Hamdan Mattan regarding missing of his 02 years old daughter Sheezan Afroz @ Ashree. The applicant suspected that she might have drowned in the nearby stream.
On receipt of this application, a case FIR number 17/2016 under section 364 RPC was registered and investigation was taken up.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelA massive search operation was launched by Mattan police assisted by SDRF, River police and Marine Commandos (MARCOS). After a month long search operation by SDRF, river police and Mattan police, the body of the girl was recovered from River Lidder near Akura village, today. After completion of legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites. (KNS)
