Bandipora Apr, 18 (KNS): Block health mela was celebrated in Bandipora on Monday. 
 
 District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr.Owais Ahmad (IAS)while inaugurating the Block Health Mela organized at Govt Higher secondary school Pazalpora Bandipora said that it is necessary to organize health camps to connect the general public with health services and to reach the beneficiaries about the beneficial schemes of the health department.
 
 It should be our endeavor that the benefits of the schemes run by the government should reach the last beneficiary living in remote areas. People should be health conscious and get their tests done in time and get treatment. Better health is our greatest asset, he said. 
 
District Development Commisioner  first reached the patient registration desk. Along with seeing the registration register, he also interacted with the patients who were registering.Asked the patients where they had come from.There was a mega health camp in the school on Monday started the camp by cutting the lace. 
 
He said that by organizing such events, the general public would be able to get information about the facilities available in the school and they would be able to take advantage of them.
 
 Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Bashir Ahmad Khan,Block Medical Officer  Dr.Masrat Iqbal Wani,  District Tuberculosis Officer,Medical officers,Dental surgeons,Gynecologists,Ayush Medical officers,RBSK Medical officers,Paramedical staff ,Asha workers and Covid warriors of vewan village of Bandipora district in Jammu & Kashmir has become the first village of the country to record 100 percent record above 18, Special contribution was made expressed hope that in future also he would continue to cooperate with the health department in the same way.
 
On the occasion, people were examined by specialists in neurology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, cardiology, urology, chest, gastroenterology, gynecology and obstetrics, dermatology, endocrinology, child specialist, cancer, dental, general medicine, general surgery and Ayush clinics.Dr.B.A.khan congratulated Team of Health and Block medical Officer Bandipora Dr Masarat that he took an initiative along with District Administration  to organize health screening camps to bring awareness in people over their present health condition,  It turned out to be a highly successful day as our sacred aim to bring awareness among people about their health was fulfilled.
 
Dr Masarat Iqbal Block Medical Officer organizer of the camp said that they have been continuously organizing such camps under the Public Service Grantee Act, since the last two years ton provide the basic health services to the public at their doorstep in far-flung areas.Awareness regarding sanitation, save girl child, the benefit of institution delivery, detail of Health schemes etc was imparted to the public.
 
A team of doctors, headed by Dr Shabir Ahmad Dr Riyaz zulfi   and Mohd Shafi samoon, CHO, and others Paramedics at the first stall of the camp provided free consultations to people during the camp. Tests like BP, blood sugar, Blood Grouping,  HB, etc. were offered free of cost in the camp and awareness was given to public about NCD RBSK Medical officer team  Dr Syed liyaqat Dr Fouzia ,Dr Rifat headed by Dr Tariq sofi where children were screened by Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram(RBSK) Team of Block. 
 
During the screening some cases of 4Ds were detected, which were referred to the District Early intervention Centre(DEIC) at DH Bandipora for further follow up.
 
On the spot treatment was also given and free medicines were provided to the needy children. Children were also given awareness regarding health and hygiene. 
 
Community Medical officers team Dr Showkat, Dr Faizan , Dr Shazia, Dr Arif Manzoor headed by Dr Jahangir Ahmad briefly explained Ayushman Bharat Programme besides family health surveys, screening for various communicable and non-communicable diseases and health check-ups are regularly conducted in the rural and urban field practice areas of the institution. Apart from these, support is provided to various surveys of Government.
 
 A team of Immunization headed by Mr Mehraj din spoke about  rapid development of vaccines against COVID-19 was an extraordinary achievement, successfully vaccinating the whole  population presented many challenges, from production to distribution, deployment, and importantly, acceptance and briefed about the achievements of the immunization in the district. 
 
A team of doctors headed by Dr saboor sikander rolled out awareness regarding PMJAY scheme comes with a maximum sum insured of Rs 5 lakh per family. Besides the hospital treatment cost, the scheme also covers the cost of diagnostic tests, medicines, pre-hospitalization expenses, Ayush and it's significance in today's era headed by Dr Ijaz and Dr Shabir. AYUSH stands for Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy systems of medicine. Within these medical systems, drug therapies play an important role in curing disease and maintaining health. These drugs comprise of natural molecules which are better absorbed and utilized in the human body and produce effect without adverse drug reaction in comparison to the synthetic molecules. AYUSH system is centuries old. But over these years it has gained confidence of many as other systems of medicine.They cannot be regarded as competitors rather they are complimentary to each other, added Dr Shabir. 
 
Implementation of National health programmes and various health schemes being operated from  time to time so that common people get in benefitted from these schemes and role of Asha's was fully explained by Gousia maqbool(BAM) Bandipora during the event. 
 
Later on Students of Government Higher secondary school Pazalpora spoke about the event which was accompanied by doctors from District Hospital Bandipora particularly mental Health and non communicable diseases screening and management.
