Block Diwas outreach program held at Karnah

Kupwara, Sep 28 (KNS): As part of Governments ambitious Jan Abhiyan programme a public outreach event Block Diwas was held at Dak Banglow Tanghdar in north kashmir's Kupwara district.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the aim of the programme is to address the issues, grievances and demands of the public and it was attended by a large number of local people and PRI members.

“During the Public hearing various delegations, individuals, and deputations from Panchayats apprised the Sub divisional magistrate about the issues pertaining to the different departments including Health, Education, irrigation ,Horticulture, Agriculture, Jal Shakti, RDD, R&B, Power Deptt, Social Welfare, and other sectors,” he said.

He said that the officers listened to these grievances patiently and issued appropriate on spot directions to the concerned for redressal of genuine demands.

Meanwhile, SDM Karnah impressed upon the officers to ensure quality disposal of every genuine public grievance.

“The Block Diwas proved beneficial for many people as several grievances were redressed on the spot by concerned officers,” the official said.

The BDO Tangdar while appreciating the people's participation in the program urged the public to come forward and work as a team for the development of the area.

Moreover, the public was assured that the non-jurisdictional demands will be projected before the higher authorities.

DDC member Karnah said that government officers and public representatives must work in coordination as a team for prompt redressal of public grievances and developmental process .

The official said that the programme was attended by DDC member Karnah, SDM Karnah, BDO Tangdar among others. (KNS)
