BJP-PDP govt failed youth: Hassan Mir

‘Mufti brought injustice, hopelessness & insecurity back to Kashmir’

Asking youth to stand on their feet and become self-sufficient, former minister and Chairman Democratic Party Nationalist Ghulam Hassan Mir Sunday alleged BJP-PDP dispensation through its wrong policies has pushed the younger generation into uncertainty and hopelessness.
“The youth of J&K has given sacrifices at every stage of Kashmir’s present history. It is the youth who has born the major brunt of uncertain situation in the state. They had hoped their miseries will end, but they only found themselves to be pushed to wall. There is only injustice and hopelessness everywhere, and our youth feels to be failed by the government,” Mir said addressing a gathering at Wanigam Tangmarg today.
Mir, who lost the recent Assembly election from Tangmarg constituency, took strong dig at Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led government claiming the much-hyped coalition government has dashing the hopes of people, particularly youth, by making false promises with them.
He said Mufti has undone whatever good the government in 2002 headed by the same chief minister had done with people. “In 2002, the situation in Kashmir was worse. People were living in perpetual fear of life, a sense of insecurity was everywhere, people’s honour, dignity and lives were bruised. Mufti-led government at that time came with a sense of hope and dragged people out of that uncertainty. But now I wonder what has happened to same Mufti sahib. His government is doing everything to push people back to early 1990’s like situation. People are again feeling insecure.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe situation is going from bad to worse, and the Muti-led government is failing people on every front,” he alleged.
Mir said his intention is not to see the end of the government, but “yes I want the government to give people the sense of security.”
“Our youth are pushed towards jails, graveyards, and gun-culture. This should be a grave cause of concern for the government,” he said.
Mir added that Mufti government through its finance minister Haseeb Drabu have “befooled” people with a false hope of waving off Kisan Credit Loan upto Rs 50,000. ‘But that turned out to be a big joke played by Chief Minister with people through its finance minister,” he said.
The DPN chairman castigated Mufti Sayeed for aligning with BJP on premises that state government will receive liberal funding from saffron party led government at New Delhi. “Doesn’t the non-BJP government’s in other states receive funds from Centre? Has our state got any special benefit other than false promises,” he said, adding that Mufti has traded Kashmir’s dignity and security for his chair.
“If Mufti has any concern for his nation, he would have said good-bye to BJP. But he will never so that. As you all know both the dynastic parties – PDP & NC – have always traded Kashmir’s interests for power. So I request youth to stand up and write a new chapter of self-sufficiency for the state,” he said.
