BJP Nominates J&K In-charge Tarun Chugh for Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh

 Srinagar, June 4 (KNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated its National General Secretary and Jammu & Kashmir-Ladakh in-charge, Tarun Chugh, as a candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections from Madhya Pradesh. The elections are scheduled to be held on June 18, 2026.

 
A close aide of Tarun Chugh confirmed the development to KNS, stating that the BJP leadership has officially fielded him for the Rajya Sabha seat from Madhya Pradesh.
Sources told KNS that Chugh's election to the Upper House is virtually assured, given the BJP's numerical strength in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.

As the party's in-charge for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Chugh has played a key role in strengthening the BJP's organisational network and political outreach in the Union Territory. He is widely regarded within the party as one of the architects of the BJP's performance in the 2024 Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections, where the party won 29 seats.
 
His nomination to the Rajya Sabha is being viewed as recognition of his organisational abilities and increasing prominence within the BJP's national leadership. (KNS)
