‘We will make a comprehensive policy’

Srinagar, June 09 (KNS): Ruling BJP legislators Thursday stormed into the Well of the Lower House and later staged walkout over establishing sports stadia in their constituencies
The BJP MLAs were supported by Opposition National Conference legislators over the issue.
While Sunil Sharma, minister of state for Youth Services and Sports was replying to the written question of BJP MLA Shakti Parihar on sports stadia, BJP MLA from Kathua Rajeev Jasrotia asked a supplementary.
Jasrotia accused the government for ignoring his assembly segment and failing to establish a sports stadium there.
Meanwhile, independent MLA from Udhampur Pawan Kumar Gupta stormed into the well, shouting slogans against the government.
Gupta was joined by Jasrotia, BJP MLAs R S Pathania and Dina Nath in the Well.
The opposition parties rose up from the benches and supported these protesting legislators. They thumped the benches in support of the legislators.
“Today it is clear now as how Jammu has been denied its due rights,” Congress leader Vikar Rasool said.

Jasrotia said that he was assured in DDB and other meetings about the sports stadium but “nothing happened on ground”. “Should I bring privilege motion,” he said.
Meanwhile, the minister tried to reply them but they were unconvinced.
However, deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh while replying to the informed the House that the state government will approach the central government for funds.
“We will make a comprehensive policy. Give us time. I assure the House that we will do it,” he said.
“It is not possible to do everything in only one year. This state has been marred with mis-governance of past 67 years, so it is not possible to bring changes overnight”
However, Singh’s reply did not convince the Kathua lawmaker. He later staged walk out. (KNS)
