Bilal targeted of being Kashmiri: JeI

Urges international bodies to impress India to release all arrestees

Srinagar, Oct 18 (KNS): Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) vehemently condemns life sentence to Bilal Ahmad Kota of Saderbal, Srinagar by session court Bangalore and termed it inhumane, unjustified and grave violation of human rights.
In a statement issued to KNS, JeI said, Bilal Ahmad was earning livelihood for himself and family and was engaged in Information Technology business, but the communal and anti-Kashmir lobby in India has targeted him of being a Kashmiri and entrapped him in a flimsy and baseless case.
Since the present dispensation came into power in New-Delhi, there has been a mountainous increase in harassment and intimidation of Kashmiri students and business affiliated people who are being hounding by fascist, communal and anti-Kashmir elements. Also police and other agencies of India left no opportunity to book Kashmiris on concocted and fabricated cases, Jama’at said.
Bilal Ahmad Kota, resident of Saderbal, Srinagar, Jama’at said, due to defective and unsound trial system regarding Kashmiris in India, he had been detained in December, 2005 but so far he has not been produced in a free and fair court where he could plead his case soundly and thus his entire family has been hit badly.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
JeI condemns all baseless and flimsy allegations leveled against Bilal Ahmad and termed in inhumane and undemocratic.
Moreover, JeI expresses its resentment over the recent crackdown by police, CRPF and Army at various places in valley including Old Town Baramullah, Handwara, Kakapora etc wherein forces resort to intense excesses and vandalizing of goods and other house hold items.
Forces have unleashed a reign of terror in valley by detaining scores of youth during nocturnal raids and have created havoc by ransacking and vandalizing goods, beating inmates ruthlessly with no discrimination, JeI said.
Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) strongly condemns this atrocious behavior and termed it unjustified. Moreover, Jama’at urges international bodies to come forward and take strong notice of atrocities perpetrated by Indian forces in Kashmir and impress India to release all arrestees who have been detained during the ongoing movement or earlier.
