Srinagar, April 29 (KNS) : Senior politician Bilal Gani Lone has called on the government to urgently address the development and infrastructure shortfalls in Keran area, located along the Line of Control in Kupwara district.
After visiting the area in connection with a social engagement, and speaking with the locals, Lone said the situation on the ground reflects years of neglect.
Residents, he noted, continue to grapple with gaps in basic services that directly affect their
daily lives.
At the same time, he pointed to Keran’s untapped potential, particularly in tourism.
“The area has immense potential to emerge as one of of the top tourism destinations in J&K,
place remain overlooked,” he said.
Lone also drew attention to shortcomings in key sectors such as education, health care and road connectivity, saying the issues raised by the residents indicate the deeper, systemic problems.
He urged the government to treat Keran’s concerns as a priority and ensure timely
interventions to improve living conditions in the border area. (KNS)
