Following Friday prayers, massive protests were held at Main Chowk Handwara against recent high court order of banning sale and consumption of beef in Jammu and Kashmir.
KNS correspondent said that dozens of people, mostly youth, emerged from Jamia Qadeem Handwara after the Friday prayers and staged demonstrations.
Witnesses told KNS that the protesters tried to march towards the Main Chowk Handwara.

KNS Handwara Correspondent Raja Akbar who was on the spot said that a cow was slaughtered in Qalamabad Main Market as a mark of protest against the ban imposed by a court order on beef.
“It is our religious right to have beef, so even if the Supreme Court orders a ban we will still consume beef,” the protestors said. (KNS)
