Srinagar, Sep 28 (KNS): With Law Minister Syed Basharat Bukhari saying that he will prefer resignation over succumbing to pressure on the reinstating of two counsels sacked for failing to defend government’s position in court on beef ban case, BJP Monday said that the party was only strongly trying to persuade the minister and not exerting any pressure.
A senior BJP leader told KNS on conditions of anonymity that the sacking of the former Additional Advocate General Vishal Sharma and former Deputy Advocate General Parimkosh Seth had “no justification” owing to the fact that the petition seeking ban of beef was filed in court much before the formation of the government and their appointment as government councils.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Their sacking has sent a wrong message in Jammu Bar Association, which wants that both former AAG and DAG be immediate reinstated. So keeping this sentiment in view, BJP is strongly trying to persuade the government in general and law ministry in particular to reinstate the sacked lawyers,” said the leader, adding that RSS has no role in it. “It is only BJP that is perusing this case, RSS has nothing to do with it,” he added.
