Ganderbal, Apr 11 (KNS): J&K National Conference on Sunday welcomed BDC Wakura Gh Mohd Malla along with a number of Sarpanchs, Panchs and many prominent political workers in Ganderbal.

As per the statement issued to kashmir news service (KNS),While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, party’s district President Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar said, “NC is not a mere political party, but a movement with well-defined political agenda. Workers of NC are epitome of sacrifice and selfless service who have withstood all challenges and proven their loyalty towards people, party and its leadership.”

He said that a realization has dawned on the people that there is no alternative to National Conference and the party alone can represent the social, political and economic aspirations and multifarious problems effectively and single-mindedly of the people of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The party's objective has never been power but dignity and development of the people, he said.

Jabbar exhorted the people to strengthen the National Conference at grass root level and maintain peace and harmony. “Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah transferred 'a peoples' movement' to us in the shape of NC and we have to nurture it in the same form,” he said.

The meeting concluded with special prayers for the speedy recovery and wellbeing of Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah, Vice President Omer Abdullah.

Among others DDC Chairperson Ganderbal Nuzhat Ishfaq, DDC Mohd Ashraf,  Zahida Akhter, Pir Mohd Yousuf, Block Presidents were also present on the occasion.

Earlier DDC Chairperson Ganderbal Nuzhat Ishfaq kick-started the party's women membership drive here in Ganderbal.

She urged the women cadre to take membership drive seriously to strengthen the party at grass root level.(KNS)
