Kupwara, 06 June (KNS): The Block development council (BDC) Chairman Langate Showkat Hassan Pandith visited Pohrupat village in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district to take stock of the macadamisation works being carried out on general road Sopore-Kupwara to pohrupat bridge. 

In a statement issued here, a spokesperson said that he was accompanied by DDC member Mawer constituency, Khursheed Ahmad Dar, Block President AIP Showkat Ahmad Khan, Social activist and AIP Senior Leader Farooq Ahmad Dar and scores of locals. 

“Locals said that this road was in shambles for the past many years and every time their pleas would go unheard as the authorities failed to upgrade the condition of the road.”

The statement reads that locals expressed their gratitude to BDC Chairman, Showkat Hassan Pandith and DDC member Mawer Khursheed Ahmad Dar for taking up the matter with the concerned authorities and resolving their long pending demand.

Meanwhile, BDC Chairman Showkat Pandith thanked district development commissioner Kupwara for fulfilling the long pending demand of the locals.

He appealed District Devlopment Commissioner Kupwara to take up the macadamisation of some other roads in Pohru Block who are in dilapidated condition from the past many years.(KNS)
