Srinagar, 11 Aug (KNS) : The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference General Secretary and MLA Khanyar Ali Mohammad Sagar Tuesday inaugurated and dedicated to people a 1,500-foot-long concrete road constructed at a cost of ?65 lakh under road development project at Peer Bagh Colony, Abi Nao Pora. The construction of the road was a long-pending demand of the local residents and its completion has provided an important facility to the people of the area. MLA Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar was also present on the occasion.
After inaugurating the road, Ali Mohammad Sagar presided over a public durbar, where he listened to the issues, grievances and demands of the people. He took up several matters with the concerned authorities on the spot and directed them to ensure their prompt redressal, while assuring the people that several other issues would be resolved at the earliest. He said that the essence of public representation lies in addressing people’s concerns on a priority basis and ensuring the provision of basic amenities.
In a statement issued, Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar said that providing basic and essential services, strengthening infrastructure and improving the quality of life of the common people remain among the foremost priorities of the National Conference government. He said that over the past nearly two years, development activities in the Khanyar constituency have gained considerable momentum, with work undertaken on roads, lanes and by-lanes, parks, community halls, streetlights and other essential civic infrastructure.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said the government has not limited its focus to infrastructure development alone but has also given due attention to various areas of public welfare. Assistance to fire-affected families, renovation and improvement of educational institutions, provision of modern equipment to healthcare centres and hospitals, drinking water projects and improvement of civic amenities are among the measures that reflect the people-centric approach of the government.
Sagar said that the government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has, over the past two years, made sincere efforts to reconnect the administrative and development process with the priorities and needs of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. Several measures have been undertaken in the fields of roads, bridges, water supply, electricity, healthcare, education, urban infrastructure, employment, tourism and public welfare. The government, he said, has laid particular emphasis on directly addressing public grievances, completing development projects and improving the quality of essential services. (KNS)
