Basharat Bukhari grieved over Dr Margoob Banihali’s demise

Srinagar 28 April (KNS): Former cabinet minister and senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference Syed Basharat Bukhari has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Dr. Margoob Banihali- a renowned academician, writer, and poet of national and international repute.

The deceased has discharged his duties as head of Kashmiri Department, University of Kashmir, and was a distinguished philosopher and intellectual.

In his condolence message, Bukhari while expressing solidarity with the bereaved family at this hour of great loss said that the immense contribution of Dr Margoob in the field of Kashmiri literature will act as a guiding principle for generations of researchers and scholars across the globe and his demise has left a huge void in the intellectual landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.  

While recollecting his interactions with Dr Margoob in the erstwhile Radio Kashmir Srinagar, Bukhari said it was always a delight to learn from his extensive knowledge of Kashmiri language and culture and highlight his intellectual contribution to the literary landscape of Jammu and Kashmir
