Basharat Bukhari condoles demise of Mohammad Afzal of Sangrama’s Kandi

Srinagar, Oct 09 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference senior leader on Saturday expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Mohammad Afzal Rather alias Ablaala of Takia Yusuf Shah of Kandi Sangrama in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

In his condolence message, Bukhari said that Afzal sahib was a fatherly figure to him who will be remembered for his selfless service to the people of Kandi.

"Ablaala was great human and a decent gentleman. Besides, he was a prominent political and social activist who tirelessly advocated the issues of his people for more than 50 years. He was instrumental in articulating the problems of the people in Kandi", he said.

Bukhari said that he is highly indebted to Afzal sahib for his guidance and helping him identify the problems in Kandi area.

"I have lost a fatherly figure, a companion and a friend. Afzal sahibs demise has left a void which will be difficult to fill. I am indebted to him for his support and guidance during my career. Allah bless his soul with choicest blessings - Ameen,” he added. (KNS)
