Srinagar, May 10 (KNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday launched a sharp counter-offensive against his political critics, asserting that their "baseless allegations" stand exposed "within seconds" as his government remains focused on development and public welfare.

"Those levelling charges without facts should first have the courage to do their homework. The lies spoken without substance are exposed within seconds," Abdullah told reporters in Ganderbal district as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).

His remarks came after he laid the foundation stone for the Phase-I of the Sindh Riverfront Project, a Rs 40-crore initiative aimed at boosting tourism and creating modern public spaces along the Sindh stream.

CM Omar Abdullah also unveiled a series of measures to build local film infrastructure, including a single-window clearance system and cost cuts for production houses.

"We are working with organisations, particularly in Mumbai, to create a trained pool of resources so that when a film unit comes here, they don't have to bring everybody with them," he said.

"It is cheaper for the film unit and it also creates local employment," the Chief Minister added, stating that plans are underway to establish a local pool of high-end filming equipment.

A dedicated tourism department officer will now coordinate all permissions, he said. "It is something that we are currently in the process of executing, and we hope that it will show results soon," CM Omar said. (KNS)
