Baramulla police organises educational tour for students at Kunzer police station

 Baramulla, Jun 9 (KNS): As part of its community outreach initiative, Baramulla Police on Tuesday facilitated an educational visit for 65 students and their teachers from Sheikh-ul-Alam Public School, Dhobiwan, Tangmarg, to Police Station Kunzer, officials said.

 
The visit was aimed at familiarising students with the functioning of the police department, promoting awareness about public safety and strengthening police-public relations, they said.
 
According to police, the students were given a guided tour of various sections of the police station, including the reporting room, duty officer’s office, munshiyat, investigation room, lock-up, SHO’s office, CCTV monitoring system and the online CCTNS lab. Police officials explained the functioning of each section and highlighted public services provided by the department.
 
Awareness sessions were also conducted on ERSS helpline 112, cyber fraud helpline 1930, SSP Baramulla’s Nasha Mukt tip line, prevention of drug abuse, child rights, online safety, traffic awareness and personal safety measures, police added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelDemonstrations of police equipment, wireless communication systems and emergency response mechanisms were also showcased.
 
An interactive session provided students with insights into policing and encouraged community participation in maintaining peace and public safety, officials said. A pledge ceremony was also held where students pledged to follow traffic rules, stay away from drugs, respect public property and act as responsible citizens.
 
The programme concluded with refreshments for all participants. The students and teachers appreciated the initiative and thanked the officers and staff of Police Station Kunzer, police said.
 
Baramulla Police remains committed to fostering trust and positive engagement with the community, particularly the youth, an official added. (KNS)
