Baramulla police foil trafficking bid in Kunzer, one held

 Srinagar, Apr 17 (KNS): Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have foiled a drug trafficking attempt and arrested a man after recovering nearly 30 grams of a charas-like substance from his possession.

 
An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) A police team from Police Station Kunzer intercepted a suspicious individual during routine naka checking at Mulgam Chowk. The accused, identified as Adil Ahmed Akhoon, a resident of Rambailpora Kunzer, tried to flee but was apprehended tactfully, the official said.
 
Around 29.5 grams of a charas-like substance was recovered from his personal search.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelOfficials said the seizure was conducted following all legal procedures in the presence of a gazetted officer and independent witnesses.
 
A case under FIR No. 45/2026 has been registered at Police Station Kunzer under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation has been initiated.
 
Baramulla Police reiterated their commitment to curb the drug menace in the district and appealed to the public to share any information related to drug trafficking, the official added. (KNS)
