Baramulla Police Arrest Three Drug Peddlers, Recover Contraband in Tangmarg

Baramulla, Sept 1 (KNS): Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, Baramulla Police on Monday arrested three alleged drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession in Tangmarg area.

According to police, a checkpoint was established by Tangmarg Police at Drung crossing under the supervision of SHO Tangmarg. During checking, three persons identified as Altaf Ahmad Hajam son of Mohd Abdullah Hajam, Suhail Ahmad Lone son of Mohd Maqbool Lone, and Mudasir Ahmad Lone son of Gh Nabi Lone — all residents of Waniloo Hajibal — were intercepted.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“Upon search, 20 grams of brown sugar-like substance, suspected to be narcotic, was recovered from their possession,” police said. The trio was taken into custody and shifted to Police Station Tangmarg.

Police have registered FIR No. 67/2025 under sections 8/21-29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Tangmarg and initiated further investigation.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate in efforts to curb drug trafficking and to report any suspicious activity by dialing 112 or contacting the nearest police unit.KNS
