Bandipora, June 20 (KNS): Police attached a property belonging to an accused involved in a narcotics case in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district as part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign in the Union Territory, officials said.
The attached property is a Pulsar 220 DTS motorcycle bearing registration number JK15A-5961 belonging to Mohammad Arif Wani, a resident of Plan area in Bandipora, they said.
Wani is an accused in FIR No. 56/2020 registered under Sections 8, 22 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, officials said.
According to officials, the action was taken as part of the ongoing "Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan" aimed at curbing drug trafficking and disrupting the financial networks of those involved in the narcotics trade.
Police said the drive against drug peddling and narcotics-related activities would continue and urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in the fight against the drug menace.
The attachment is part of sustained efforts to identify and seize assets linked to individuals involved in drug-related offences, officials added. (KNS).
