Bandipora, Dec 07 (KNS): The 84-km Bandipora-Gurez road was on Tuesday reopened for one way traffic movement after snow was cleared on the road by 56 RCC of Border Road Organisation after three days following fresh snowfall last week. 

An official of BRO told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that that snow clearance operation on the road was completed late last evening and the road has now been reopened for one-way traffic movement.

Terming it as a great relief for the people of the Gurez valley, he said that the area was cut off from rest of the world for the last three days.

Meanwhile, a police official said that keeping in view slippery condition of the road, only those vehicles will be allowed to ply on the road, which have anti-skid chains, while no vehicle will be allowed after 3 pm from Pethkoot area of Bandipora towards Gurez.  

He also said that today one-way traffic will be allowed from Bandipora towards Gurez. (KNS)
