Jammu, Nov 11 (KNS): Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today flagged off ISM/Ayush awareness walkathon as a part of National Ayurveda Day here.
Director General, ISM&H J&K Dr Abdul Kabir Dar, District AYUSH Officer Jammu, Dr Saroj Sharma and other senior officers of the department were also present at the flag-off ceremony of the walkathon for “Awareness on Prevention and Management of Diabetes through Ayurveda”.
The walkathon started from ADMO Office New Plot Jammu in which medical students from JIAR, Medical, Paramedical staff of ISM department and large number of people participated. The walkathon concluded at Directorate General Office at Indira Chowk Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister stressed the need for carrying out aggressive campaign in every nook and corner of the state to make public aware about the goodness of AYUSH system of medicine.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Bhagat appreciated the role of Directorate General of ISM for organizing such programmes in which free consultations/free medicines are provided to public.
He directed the officials to continue the campaign for next 15 days.
Directorate General ISM&H/AYUSH J&K is observing public awareness campaign across the state since last 14 days as a part of outreach & awareness programme.
Later on a function was held at the Office of Directorate General to highlight the role of Ayurveda in prevention and management of Diabetes and other life style related diseases.
He also stressed upon carrying such activities in every part of the state. (KNS)
