Srinagar May 30 (KNS):  Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK) has taken strong note of the dilapidated condition of Badamweri Almond garden in Downtown Srinagar.

In a statement to Kashmir News Service (KNS), CCIK President Tariq Rashid Ghani said the Badamwari garden used to be the most beautiful garden in the city having historical importance.

"However, due to government apathy, the garden in now unkempt and it's caretaking has been very dismal."

Joint Secretary CCIK Ms Qaiser Mir said the dogs are running freely in the garden while many almond trees are also broken.

"The parking space and other areas are full of garbage and waste disposals. No one seems to be taking care of it's cleanliness. This is a matter of grace concern," she said.

Ghani said after government took it over from JK Bank, the garden has been in bad shape.

"We urge authorities to either hand it over to J&K Bank or outsource it's maintaiance and care taking to any private party so that it regains it lost glory."(KNS)
