Says the program does nothing except disrupting govt machinery

Srinagar November 05 (KNS) : Former minister and Senior Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference leader Abdul Gani Vakil today asserted that the government’s Back to village program is a failure and does nothing except disrupting the entire government machinery that further aggravates the miseries of people as the government Offices are totally Closed and no one remains in the office to address problems of common man .

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Vakil said the Back To Village Programme is very much active on Twitter and Facebook to score points, while on the ground it has turned into a crude joke and a mere eyewash that has failed in addressing and assessing the specific economic potential and the needs of the villages.

Vakil said they are not against development but  current B2V exercise has failed to enthuse people and give anticipated results. The last three phases of back to village programs have  yeilded no results on the ground”, Vakil added.

He said the B2V exercise far from taking administration to the doorsteps of people has disturbed the district administration already working in the field. The claims of the Govt regarding rural development is only restricted to statements and meetings.

The former minister said unfortunately, there has been no follow up to earlier B2V exercises which has rendered this new phase of B2V a sheer mockery. Non-observance of the official commitments in the previous three rounds of B2V is widening the trust-deficit between people and the officials. The absence of a robust redressal mechanism has therefore rendered the entire exercise ineffective,” Vakil added

Vakil was visiting different Villages of Rafiabad and Sopore today which includes Pakhwara ,Kangroosa ,Bakhipora, Fidarpora ,Warpora & NaseerAbad in Sopore. He was accompanied by senior leaders DDC chairman Ghulam Mohammed Mir, Sarpanch Tariq Ahmed Mir, Sarpanch Ghulam Hassan war and Hakim Mohammed Altaf.(KNS)
