Srinagar April 10 (KNS): Reacting to Ghulam Nabi Azad’s interviews appearing on different media channels in the backdrop of his book launch event in Delhi, Congress stalwarts Monday termed his (Azad’s) criticism as manifestation of treachery and highest form of ungratefulness towards Nehru Gandhi family on his part.
Former Congress LOP in Rajya Sabha should also have counted ‘out of turn’ promotions, favours and position both (official & organizational) he enjoyed during his four long decades in power due to Nerhu Gandhi family’s blessings and trust reposed in him.
Congress stalwarts Prof.Saifuddin Soz, Ghulam Ahmad Mir and Tariq Hameed Karra in a joint statement asserted that Ghulam Nabi Azad due to his actions and statements have proved himself as extremely ungrateful to the Nehru Gandhi family. He (Azad) is defaming Congress Party aiming to create a confusion among the masses given Rahul Gandhi’s constructive role and the appreciation he is receiving for fighting the battle against crony capitalism and organized loot of Nation’s wealth on the part of Modi Govt.
They questioned Azad as to why he has deliberately chosen not to make a mention of events when his word was taken as the last word. It's a clear indication of Azad’s intent of maligning a family on behalf of his new found masters.
Congress stalwarts expressed surprise over Azad’s nasty criticism to Congress particularly against Rahul Gandhi. They reiterated that Gandhi is fighting the battle against a divisive force. Gandhi never compromised on his stated position to safeguard National interests at all costs and by all means, even his hurried disqualification from Lok Sabha was done to silence him, which is not going to happen neither in present nor in future, for the fact, Rahul Gandhi is performing his role to the best of his ability, in the larger interests of the Nation.
We would like to refresh the memory of Mr.Azad about the sea of opportunities and favours Nehru Gandhi family have bestowed upon him during his long period in power. Hailing from a remote area of Doda District, Azad was recommended by Late Mufti Mohd Sayeed to Madam Indira Gandhi, who made him a youth leader without any political background or fan following , then he(Azad) was rewarded with Party ticket to contest Lok Sabha elections from Maharashtra where Madam Gandhi herself campaigned and ensured his victory by a thumping majority with the result he(Azad) made his entry in Lok Sabha for the first time. Since then Nehru Gandhi family whom Azad is now targeting made a sea of opportunities available for him, he was elected to Rajya Sabha many times subsequently made Union Minister number of times without facing elections, which he should also count while speaking on Gandhi family.
Azad directly and indirectly has been attacking Gandhi scion whose father Rajiv Gandhi gave enough to Azad and also sacrificed his life for the Nation. The Nation will continue to remain indebted to Nerhu Gandhi family for their selfless services and sacrifices, Congress stalwarts added and suggested Azad that apart from his Book, he should move ahead one more step and start counting the official as well as organizational positions bestowed upon to him by Nehru Gandhi family during four long decades of his remaining in power, on the contrary Mr.Azad has unleashed a frivolous and baseless propaganda against Gandhi’s, which is unbecoming and unethical on his part. They are the same Gandhi’s what they used to be when he (Azad) was rewarded out of turn with top positions including ministerial berths and other important party positions, from time to time against the wishes of Seniors. Sadly, Rahul’s Gandhi’s confidence and trust in Ghulam Nabi Azad did not change him whilst Azad proved himself ungrateful to the family.
They said Azad cannot absolve the responsibility of conspiring against Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party, speaking something on Media Chanel and doing other things behind the curtains is now an open book before every congress worker and common men. Azad was better advised to concentrate on his newly floated party in J&K rather than searching for opportunities under garb of his book to unnecessarily drag Congress especially Gandhi’s into controversies, Congress stalwarts warned.
Terming finally floating of Regional Party by a self-styled Nation leader as dubiously designed to fragment the Muslim majority vote to favour BJP, they reminded Azad as to why didn’t he accept the repeated offer by Mrs.Sonia Gandhi and Mr.Rahul Gandhi to head the Congress Party in J&K for the last five years.
In response he would always mention what is now left in J&K for me to head it and would even say that J&K is too small a place for him (Azad) to play politics. Though his politics finally boiled down from National level to UT level, it clearly indicates that other nefarious designs were already stitched for him for quite some time.
