JAMMU, Aug 25(KNS): Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad condemned the rape and murder of a minor girl from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community in Chatroo area of Kishtwar district, describing the incident as “horrifying and shameful”.
Azad appreciated the police for swiftly arresting the accused and said the perpetrator deserved exemplary punishment.
“The rape and murder of a minor girl from the ST community in Chatroo, Kishtwar is absolutely horrifying and shameful,” Azad said in a statement.
He also called upon society to collectively stand against crimes against women and children and ensure that individuals harbouring such criminal mindsets have no place in society.

“Society across the country must rise to the occasion and ensure that people with such dirty mindsets find no place in our society,” he said.
Azad stressed the need for strict action against those involved in such heinous crimes and expressed solidarity with the victim’s family.
The police have arrested the accused in connection with the case and further investigation is underway.(KNS).
