Srinagar, August 4 (KNS): As heat for the sanctioning of AIIMS to Jammu rises with continued protests there, Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha and former J&K Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad Tuesday wrote a Letter of Purpose to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting his indulgence for granting sanction to an additional AIIMS for Jammu.
Azad said that sanctioning additional AIIMS to Jammu will only the issue in “amicable, equitable and just manner and will keep no room for speculations.”
Azad, while acknowledging the importance and merit of AIIMS for Kashmir region, wants PM to appreciate to the fact that large population of all districts of J&K migrate to Jammu in winters and that brings the healthcare system of Jammu, especially the tertiary healthcare system, under strain.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said as UPA-II granted two Central Universities to J&K and two State Level Cancer Institute’s for Jammu and Valley, the Leader of Opposition in RS said similarly two AIIMS be sanctioned to Kashmir and Jammu regions.
