Jammu, Apr 24 (KNS): A rousing reception was accorded to leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha and former chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad at Nashri tunnel.
A large numbers of party workers and senior leaders including distt President Congress and former MLA and party leaders led by former minister and MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani assembled out Nashri tunnel Ramban, they welcomed him with garlands amidst beating of drums and bands and raising slogans in favour of the Congress party and their leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Addressing the gathering at Nashri tunnel Azad thanked Congress workers for giving such rousing reception. He said that NDA government led by prime minister Narinder Modi has failed on all fronts and trying to count the decades long achievements of Congress party to hide their failures.
Expressing confidence, Azad Soz said that his assessment is that Congress would emerge as the largest political force in the state. He said that the people of all three regions appreciate the policies and programmes of the Congress party and its leadership which are aimed at to service the people.
He said that the Congress party feels duty bound to respect urges and aspirations of the people of all three regions in order to strengthen the unity and integrity of the state and the nation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said that the party is strong in all three regions, but Jammu region is the back bone of the party and it will take care of aspirations of each region.
Ghulam Nabi said that the Congress party is committed to strengthen the democratic institutions in the state for the larger benefit of the people of the state and in order to ensure the participation of people in the governance and development.
He asked partymen to unitedly work for strengthening the organization in all parts of the state at the grass root level and assured them that he would always remain available to their needs and in the service of the party. He asked for coordinated efforts of the party including frontal organizations to take along party workers to further strengthen the organization at the grass root level in all parts of the state.
He thanked the party leaders and workers for his rousing reception right and said that he has no words to thank the party workers for the cooperation and affection shown by them through all these years.
Various among others secretary pardesh Congress committee Imtiyaz Ahmad Khanday, former MLA Ashok Kumar, DCC President Arun Raju, Farooq Katoch, Shakil Singh, Arif Salaria, Tariq Saleem and others were also present on the occasion. (KNS)
