Awantipora student releases poetry collection, says gender discrimination trend growing in our society

Awantipora, Jan 01 (KNS): A science student from a village in Awantipora area of South Kashmir has authored her book recently. 

Annabat Jabbar, resident of Chersoo village is a B.Sc. Nursing student, whose poetry collection, titled as "LIFE IS A SHADOW", based on various interesting topics has been released. 

In an exclusive interview, the author said that whatever she perceived from the society, she penned that down in the form of poetry.

She said that her book is based on the topics like: A Tree's Beauty, Girl without Brother, My mother, Muhammmad (SAW), Miseries of Girl, Life without Brother etc. 

The student said that "When I was in the hospital during the internship, which is a part of our course, I saw how modern people have ancient ideas, as they mourn the birth of daughters in the hospital and so on."

She further said that "we are four sisters, but have been working hard in various fields."

Pertinently, the author has three more sisters, while her father is in working in Revenue Department as 'Girdawar'. (KNS)
