Srinagar, Feb 28 (KNS): Another Militant was killed in an ongoing encounter with security forces in the Awantipora area of Pulwama district, taking the toll to 2.
The Kashmir Police Zone while giving an update on Encounter wrote, ”01 more terrorist killed (Total 02). Incriminating materials including arms & ammunition recovered. Search going on. Further details shall follow".
Earlier, an official said that a joint team of security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation after a specific input was generated.
"As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. In the operation two militants and an army soldier were killed while the search operation in the area was going on.
Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar said that among two militants, one was responsible for the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma in Pulwama.(KNS)
