Srinagar, Feb 15 (KNS): The authorities on Friday booked former bureaucrat and IAS topper turned politician Shah Faisal under Public Safety Act.
He is the eight prominent mainstream politician who was slapped with PSA.
Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service said that he was released today and booked under public safety Act. Shah along with dozens other politicians were detained ahead of abrogation of article 370 and 35 A.
They were lodged first at Centaur hotel and later on they were shifted to MLA hostel Srinagar where they remained under detention for more than six months.
Shah Faesal, an IAS officer who topped the 2010 exam quit the civil service career in January last year. He had announced his decision in a Facebook post, and gave his reason. -to protest against "unabated killings" in Kashmir and the "marginalization of Indian Muslims".

Later on 17 March, Former IAS Officer Shah Faisal launched his political party 'Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement'.
On August 14, he was detained at the Delhi airport after which he was sent back to Kashmir and taken into custody, Shah Faisal was shifted to Srinagar where he remained detained for more than six months.
After the Centre abrogated the provisions of Article 370 for Jammu and Kashmir, the former IAS officer slammed the government saying the Valley was experiencing an unprecedented lockdown and its eight million populations was "incarcerated" like never before.
Earlier authorities book three former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah , Mehbooba Mufti and several others under PSA (KNS).
