Srinagar, Feb 10 (KNS): Authorities on Friday sealed all the entry and exit points leading to city centre Lal Chowk to thwart the UN Chalo call given by the joint resistance leadership.
The security has been beefed up and regular check point put in place to thwart the call of chalo across the Srinagar city.
Pertinently the joint resistance leadership has appealed people to make a chalo call success.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest on Friday to prevent him from leading a protest march, said a spokesman.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Hurriyat (M) spokesman Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam told KNS over phone that Mirwaiz was supposed to lead a protest march from Jamia Masjid to UN office Sonwar today.
“At 8:45 am, Mirwaiz was told that he has been placed under house arrest,” he said. (KNS)
