Political workers resent move, say no prior notice served to them

Budgam, Sept 16 (KNS): The authorities on Thursday locked government residential quarters of several political workers including BDC member Pakherpora and former youth leader of PDP, Nazir Ahmad Yatoo in Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

However, the move has been resented by the political workers, who according to them were residing in these government quarters for the past several years.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), they said they were not served prior notice by the authorities about locking of these residential quarters.

“We have residing here in these quarters for the last many years and today the authorities locked them without even informing us, which is very unfortunate on their part. We strongly resent this move by the authorities,” said Mohammad Maqbool Malla, leader of Apni Party.

Notably, officials said that on the directions from higher authorities today Tehsildar Chadoora locked the R&B building near Tehsil office Chadoora, which was being used by following several political leaders as residential quarters.

These quarters were being used as residence by Mohammad Maqbool Malla of Apni party, Nazir Ahmad Yatoo, former youth leader of PDP, Feroz Ahmad Bhat senior worker of NC, Showkat Ahmad Rai former BDC and Haseena Begaum BDC Pakherpora. (KNS)
