Authorities, BSNL officials pass buck over broadband restoration

Private internet service providers charge arbitrarily

Srinagar, Feb 15 KNS: Authorities have failed to restore broadband internet services to the subscribers even after a month of extending the facility to the essential services besides hotels and tourism.

When KNS raised this issue with authorities, they said that they have asked the BSNL authorities to restore broadband internet services to the consumers who complete all the formalities.

However, an official of the BSNL told KNS, that they are finding it extremely difficult to restore broad band services due to technical issues in implementing the order of segregating the websites.

“They have provided us a list of some 400 websites which they say is white list and should be allowed to run. But it is a difficult job to segregate 400 websites from 34 lakh websites,” he added.

He also said that Government should give BSNL authorities a list of ‘black sites’ in small numbers so that these websites are bared and internet is restored.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“It will be easy for us and is workable,” he said.

Meanwhile private internet service providers are fleecing the customers who intended to avail their services.

Now aggrieved customers have filed a written complaint against them in the office of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.

“We are expecting him to take a decision at earliest so that businesses don’t suffer anymore,” customers told KNS. (KNS).
