Athar Amir reviews weekly Meeting Of SMC 

Srinagar, Sep 14(KNS): A weekly review  meeting was today chaired by Commissioner SMC Mr Athar Aamir on Enforcement, Sanitation and Revenue, Civil works, Drainage, Planning wing Building permissions, Birth and Death certification. 

 Besides Reviewing waste management, curbing polythene use, addressing grievance on sanitation and checking the status of construction sites, Mr Athar reviewed  various major projects of works division.

He reviewed Development of Green space at Bage Mehtab, uogradation of parking area at sector 46 Batamaloo, Development of Noorbagh Play ground  Tulkum Maidaan Rathpora, Community centre at Athwajan, Shopping Complex Khayam,  Regal Complex at Lal chowk, Construction of Foot bridge at Mehjoor Nagar, construction of Drainage Network at Miominaabaad, Construction of Community hall at Gogo colony, and status of other drainage works.

Mr Athar after reviewing all the projects under works division passed on directions to expedite with formulation of pending DPRs and overall work progress.

A major review was also taken on Status of Building Permission cases where in Mr Athar passed on directions to speed up with the pending cases and where ever NOCs are pending accordingly applicants should be informed.

Storm water Drainage network Hamdania Colony, Khumani Chowk Bemina and storm water drainage at Iqbak colony , HMT Srinagar etc was also reviewed  during the meeting.

The Macdamisation plan , Maintenance and repairs under city roads component were also reviewed and disscussed at length.

Public grievance regarding sanitation  issues for improvisation of sanitation  and door to door waste collection was also reviewed and  discussed at length.

During the course of meeting status of  user charges was also reviewed.  Ward Officers were directed to improve the overall collection of waste.Emphasis was laid on curbing the use of polythene and  violators to be fined on using poythene.

 Commissioner SMC passed on directions  that Anti polythene drive is  to be held riguorsously  particularly on Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays  with a constant check on  vendors and shopkeepers.(KNS).
